Bill reappears, absent any personal character, still

Those of us who abhor the thought of Hillary winning the election look desperately for reasons to hope that it won’t happen.  Recently Bill, husband-in-name-only, provided us with a big lift. Before we could adjust our sensibilities, there he was on TV wagging that famous finger at us (again!).  It was a clear reminder of a horrible past experience, reliving a nightmare.  Then, the full measure of the horror dawned on me.   If we get Hill, we also get Bill. While Hillary spurs feelings of disgust, Bill brings that sensation to near nausea.   Spare us from this duo that has no discernible personal character.  Please!

Mayor Dellums

Chip Johnson, columnist at the S.F. Chronicle, has written several columns that express disappointment at the failure of Ron Dellums to actually “do anything” since he was elected mayor.  This elicits the old comment:  “Chip, I’m surprised you’re surprised.”   Liberals are amazing in their ability to deceive themselves.  Those writing for the S.F. Chronicle are no exception.  Look guys, Mayor Dellums is the epitome of a classic liberal. He always has been.  His approach is all words and no action.  He has made a career rattling on about the need to solve social ills while offering no concrete solutions.  I would guess that even Mayor Dellums “is surprised they’re surprised.”  After all, he has been totally consistent  in his approach all these years.  This is another example proving that “Liberals Just Can’t Govern.”  Those officials who hold forth in the Bay Area prove it over and over and over again. They can all talk and talk, but none can act.

The S.F. Zoo

The tiger that escaped from his enclosure at the S.F. Zoo creates another item for the list: “another thing they can’t do.”  In this case, of course, we are referring to the liberal governance of the City by the Bay.  Well, now we know they can’t manage a zoo either.  Some of you may feel that the Board of Supervisors itself should be regulated as a zoo facility, since it provides entertainment to onlookers.   But the truth is, the Board of Supes simply had other priorities that outranked containment of wild tigers.  For example, they recently passed an initiative to ban plastic shopping bags.  You see, they were concentrating on the “big picture stuff.”  Mauling of visitors to the zoo by a wild animal just didn’t rise up high enough on the priority list.  The S.F. Supes continue to perform the best imitation of The Keystone Cops we have seen in years.  Oh, did we mention the obvious, “Liberals Just Can’t Govern?”

Liberal priorities:  Protect the rights of terrorists

Radical Islamists send in suicide bombers to kill innocent people.  They chop off the heads of those they consider infidels, and proudly capture the event on video for TV distribution.  They fly airplanes into buildings in New York City.  They vow to destroy Israel at all costs.  Any journalist who writes even mildly unflattering accounts of the prophet Mohammed is murdered.  So goes the bloody story of Islamic terrorism.

Out of that litany of death and destruction guess what aspect catches the attention of the liberal Democrats?   The Dems scream about the abuse of the rights of the terrorists that are captured.  Democrats plead that they must be treated gently and not tortured in any way.  The phone calls of those not yet captured must not be monitored.   The Democrats worry that we might violate the civil rights of terrorists.  To the Dems the terrorist have rights, too, and it is their job to protect them.  Unless you have a long exposure to the warped priorities of liberals you will find this a shocking attitude.

Do they condemn the abhorrent behavior of the terrorist?  Not that one can tell. In fact, radical Islamic terrorism is not recognized as a problem in their pronouncements.  Protecting the rights of the terrorists is their priority.  Amazing? Yes.
