OAK PARK, Ill.--What would the United States of America look like in a year if Senator Barack Obama were elected President? To imagine an answer, just look at Chicago.
Although Senator Obama is not native to Chicago, he is a child of Chicago's Democratic politics. What happens in Chicago may happen to the nation if Senator Obama becomes commander in chief.
Chicago has been ruled by the Democratic Party for more than fifty years. Those familiar with Chicago know the city is a line of prosperity along the shore of Lake Michigan, with a bulge in the middle from Lincoln Park to the South Loop. This is our Sweden.
The west side, the south side and some of the rest is our Bolivia and our Sudan. Here, like in old Eastern-Europe, party members prosper while the people put up with illusions.
Chicago now has the highest sales tax in the nation. If Senator Obama is elected president, then you can expect taxes to go up nationwide.
Higher taxes are important to Democrats because taxes fund big government. Big government means more government jobs, and in turn these government employees vote Democratic to keep their jobs. This is how Chicago works, and may be how the nation soon works.
Todd Stroger, president of Cook County Board, just gave his cousin a 12% raise to an annual salary of almost $160,000. This comes when the county raised taxes and faces a budget crisis.
The Democrats manage Chicago by juggling minorities and segregation. Assimilation spells disaster for the urban Democrats. If Senator Obama is elected president, then we may see an increase in segregation nationwide. This means no end to the business of "civil rights."
The Democrats need racial and cultural segregation so they may claim to be the party that solves these social problems. In fact, their policies help perpetuate them. Thus, the segregated city will become the model for a balkanized nation.
More often than not this perpetuation of segregation is done through poor inner city schools. An Obama administration may mean an increase in money for public education, while the public schools grow less and less effective. In Chicago, as money for public education increases, the quality of the public schools decreases.
Attacks on big business will also increase if Senator Obama has his way. The debate in the Chicago City Council over building a Wal-Mart in the city will become a national debate.
"We are dealing with a huge company with a long history of predatory practices," Chicago Alderman Helen Shiller argued during a council meeting.
She also accused Wal-Mart of not providing its employees adequate health care. This Chicago voice against big business will become a national chorus.
Chicago is also a sanctuary city for illegal immigrants, especially illegal immigrants from Mexico. Expect the United States to become a sanctuary nation if Senator Obama is elected U. S. President. Then you will be able to, "Oprima dos por el Presidente."
Chicago had its "council wars" when Harold Washington was elected as the city's first black mayor. Could we see "Congress wars," if Senator Obama is elected the nation's first radical, leftist president?
Taking guns from law-abiding citizens is also a Chicago Democratic Party priority. A national assault on gun ownership may happen if we have Senator Obama in the White House.
CBS2-Chicago reports, "Mayor Richard M. Daley on Tuesday said he wants to introduce 'common sense' procedures to reduce gun violence, both in Springfield and in Washington, D. C. 'The tragic deaths at Northern Illinois last week again are a fresh reminder,' Daley said, 'of the need for tougher gun laws.'"
Under the Democrats and a future President Obama, our nation may look more and more like a Spanish speaking Bulgaria with nuclear weapons.
"You want change?"
"Sure, buddy, can you spare a dime?"
