From Our Writers:
Conservatives and the country took yet another step backward this week as President Bush announced to the world that he wanted the USA to adopt the goal of not producing greenhouse gases by 2025 and that we should start declining our output by that year.

It is clearly obvious that someone in his cabinet or on his team has gotten to him and convinced him that there is such a thing as manmade global warming and that doing something about supposed “climate change” is a serious undertaking necessary by the United States.

Presumptive Republican nominee John McCain has also been talking about “climate change” lately, saying that we need “regulations to limit the greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from the electricity generation, transportation, industrial, and commercial economic sectors (as defined by EPA's ''Inventory of U.S. Greenhouse Gas Emissions and Sinks.'')  These words are part of the summary of the Lieberman-McCain Climate Stewardship Act.

Liberal Republican Olympia Snowe of Maine, a longtime RINO (Republican in name only), has spoken out that we will be past the “point of no return” if we don’t do something fast about climate change.  Senator Chuck Hagel of Nebraska has reversed course from his earlier position and has recently declared that “climate change is a top-tier issue.”

I am wondering who will speak up for the truth on behalf of true conservatives and Republicans?    Republicans toiled away at Algore and have made lots of progress counteracting Algore’s lies, but now is not the time to cut and run from the truth.

The weather channel founder, John Coleman, has recently stated that “he's amazed on how many people have fallen for the global warming claims.  Coleman said that climate change is a big lie.”  In fact, Coleman goes into more depth about supposed climate change, saying: “Calling global warming and climate change one a scam, Coleman believes that in time the climate theory will be proven to be a scam when none of the predicted catastrophic events actually materialize.''

Climate is not catastrophic, according to Coleman.  He says that our planet is not in peril and there's no run-away climate change. The weatherman says he is incensed by the incredible media glamour, the politically correct silliness, and rude dismissal of counter arguments by the high priest of global warming.

So, now we have dozens, even hundreds of legitimate scientists saying what we’ve known all along:   there is no such thing as manmade climate change, global warming, etc.  Now the leader of the free world, President Bush, is skirting the issue by admitting that something must be done about this non-problem.  Bush says that we cannot economically hinder ourselves by buying into the Kyoto Treaty, but he won’t come out and denounce the stupid idea that global warming exists.  Why is this?  It’s not like Bush has an election to lose in the future.

The one conservative politician that I can point to who is not afraid of calling global warming a scam and a hoax is Oklahoma Senator Jim Inhofe.  He has consistently spoken out, both on the Senate floor and in public, about how all of this discussion is a hoax.  Inhofe is fully aware of the political consequences, if any, of his statements; however, he continues to stand up for the level-headed conclusion that the big lie of global warming is yet another scare tactic used by the many bishops in the church of environmental whacko-ism.  Liberals will stop at nothing to try to punish the “evil” USA for its “sins,” and they will tell lie after lie to perpetuate it, with the willing help of the media.

If you are a politician and you consider yourself to be the least bit conservative, you need to be following in Jim Inhofe’s steps by denouncing the big lie of global warming and manmade climate change.  Stand up and be counted.  Don’t be a spineless wimp like most of your colleagues.
