After: “Should the state of California eliminate the right of same-sex couples to marry?” (Not to mention the millions and millions of dollars that will pour into our state if we allow gay marriage!)

         The above is Proposition 8, before and after Jerry Brown, California’s attorney general, got done with it.

         It could have been worse.  The question on the ballot could have been made to read, “Are you so filled with hate, so mean-spirited, so insecure in your own sexual identity, that you would deny marriage rights to loving same-sex couples who never did you any harm?”

        Of course, that is exactly what Jerry Brown means by his rewrite of California’s proposed amendment to its constitution.  Over a million people signed the petition to put the defense of marriage on the ballot this November.  Now their own state attorney general stacks the deck against them.

        Some of us would have no problem voting for Proposition 8 even as Jerry Brown rewrote it.  How do you eliminate a “right” that in 5,000 years of human history never existed, not even among the most depraved barbarians, until moral imbeciles on the California Supreme Court cooked it up a few weeks ago?

         But many people simply don’t want to be mean.  They would shrink from eliminating anybody’s rights--even artificial rights dreamed up by corrupt judges.  This is what Brown had in mind when he rewrote the ballot question.  He plays upon the voters’ deep-seated need, much more powerful than their commitment to honor God, not to be thought intolerant or mean.

         Why?  Simply because he wants the defense of marriage to fail, and the sodomite mockery of marriage to stand.

         He’s not alone.

        *The Massachusetts state legislature has voted to repeal a law barring out-of-state couples from entering into marriages in Massachusetts that would not be legal in their home states: in particular, “gay marriages.”  Now men can “marry” men in Massachusetts, go back home to Nebraska, and demand to be treated as a legally married couple.  Thus Massachusetts aims to spread the contagion of sodomite pseudomarriage throughout all 50 states.

         *New York’s governor has announced that he can hardly wait to recognize homosexual “marriages” performed in California.

          *In addition to selling hamburgers and Happy Meals, MacDonald’s is also selling “gay marriage,” contributing money to Organized Sodomy, funding pervert parades, and proclaiming that opposition to “gay marriage” is “hate.”

           *When an expert witness testified before a congressional committee recently that allowing openly practicing homosexuals to serve in the military would be a disastrous blow to the morale of America’s armed forces, committee members rolled their eyes and called her crazy, and the alleged “journalists” who covered the hearing made fun of her clothing.

           Our leaders are head-over-heels in love with sodomy.  Politicians, corporations, bankers, academics, movie stars, media bigwigs, teachers’ unions--they have all set their hearts on turning Western civilization into a global bath-house.  Even some churchmen have leaped aboard this bandwagon.

           Those whom God would destroy, He first makes mad.  Or in the words of Paul, “And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient” (Romans 1:28).  If you’re wondering what those things are, open your Bible and read the whole chapter.

             For those of us for whom being obedient to God is more important than being culturally cool, and esteemed as tolerant, the only option is to stand fast in our faith.  Our leaders aren’t listening to God; there’s no reason to think they’ll listen to us.  All we are commanded to do is to deliver the message, just as Noah delivered it while he was building the Ark.  No one listened to him, either.

             For politicians and businessmen whose eyes light up when they see gay money, who inwardly hear the sweet ka-ching of cash registers every time they do the bidding of Big Sodomy: enjoy it now.

             It won’t be so enjoyable later.
