The selection by John McCain of Governor Sarah Heath Palin from the state of Alaska signals the beginning of the end of the Obama bin Biden Democratic ticket in 2008. She is the Republican vice presidential candidate for the November 2008 election.
Sarah Heath Palin, born February 11, 1964, is the current governor of Alaska, a former Miss Alaska runner-up, and a member of the Republican Party. She is the youngest and first female governor of
Alaska.
Sarah Palin got statewide attention in Alaska because of her whistle blowing on ethical violations by state Republican Party leaders. She won election in 2006 by first defeating the incumbent governor in the

This is already firing up the base of the Republican Party (for people like me) as Ronald Reagan did in 1980. The Democrats are between the rock in a hard place: If they come out and attack Gov. Palin for being inexperienced, the McCain camp can use the same arguments that Hillary used claiming to be “ready for that 3:00 am call.” If they say the only reason she was picked was that she was a “female” they risk the wrath of at least all the Hillary votes who wanted Sen. Clinton in the Number 2 spot as vice president.
To re-coin a phrase: McCain is starting to suck the oxygen out of Democratic ticket.
I haven’t been this excited about U.S. politics in a lot time.
This is going to be a very, very interesting road to November.
