| Obama Mixes Fact and Fiction in Address to Muslims |

June 4, 2009 – On the eve of the celebration of the 65th anniversary of the liberation of Europe by Americans and the Allied Forces on D-Day, President Obama spoke in Egypt this morning on his plans for funding Islamic activities around the globe. There are no videos showing Obama bowing to a Muslim king as he did on his last apology tour in England. His handlers clearly learned their lesson about controlling what images are shown to the American people when he interacts with Muslim potentates. The White House has billed this as an attempt to “engage” the Muslim world and to create a “stronger relationship” between Muslims and America. Robert Spencer of Jihad Watch has an excellent analysis of Obama’s speech in Cairo.
At the beginning of this speech, Obama said he was sending greetings from Muslim Americans to those assembled to hear him. He greeted them with, “Assalaamu ‘Aleykum.” There is a disagreement on the meaning of the phrase. Some believe it is a typical Muslim greeting which means “Peace be upon you.” Others site this verse of the Qur’an which uses it as a greeting from Allah.
"But when you enter the houses, greet one another with a greeting from Allah (i.e. say: Assalaamu ‘Aleykum — peace be on you), blessed and good." (al-Noor 24:61)
Since elected, President Obama has issued at least 10 apologies to Muslims over GITMO, the CIA, the war on terrorism, etc. How many more apologies are enough?
On his last apology tour, he said we are not a Christian nation and ignored the fact that we were founded on Judeo-Christian principles. In Turkey, he said: “We do not consider ourselves a Christian nation or a Jewish nation or a Muslim nation. We consider ourselves a nation of citizens who are bound by ideals and a set of values.”
And, earlier this week, Obama was quoted in the European press as claiming: “If you actually took the number of Muslim Americans, we’d be one of the largest Muslim countries in the world.” He claims there are 7 million Muslims in America. This is incorrect. The Pew Research Center says there are 2.3 million Muslims in America.
Even assuming there are 7 million Muslims, it makes the U.S. only the 34th biggest Muslim country in the world. To claim that America is one of the largest Muslim countries in the world is an insult to our Judeo-Christian heritage. This is not, and hopefully never will be, a Muslim nation. If this ever happens, freedom will die. Islamic rule brings repression, bloodshed, death and endless war.
During his Egypt speech, he claimed that since our nation’s founding, “American Muslims have enriched the United States. They have fought in our wars, served in government, stood for civil rights, started businesses, taught at our Universities, excelled in our sports arenas, won Nobel Prizes, built our tallest building, and lit the Olympic Torch.”
Big Plans to Help Islam
Prior to his election as President, Obama and his spin doctors criticized anyone who brought up his Islamic upbringing with a Muslim father and step-father and his time spent in Indonesia. Now, Obama seems to be embracing his Muslim heritage in his speeches overseas.
During his speech in Cairo on June 4, Obama repeatedly referenced his Muslim roots and claimed that Islam has a rich history of tolerance and innovation. He also asserted that Muslims in America have played an important role in our nation since its founding.
This statement claiming that Islam has a rich history of tolerance shows a shocking ignorance of history and the fact that throughout the Middle East Christians, Jews and non-Muslims live in fear. Apparently President Obama has not been briefed on the fact that continually Islamic nations top the list of human rights violators.
Obama claims that the 9/11 attack on America was done by a group of fanatics who do not represent mainline Islam. He is wrong. The Koran and other Islamic writings repeatedly refer to violent Jihad as the way to conquer the world and to suppress the infidel. Islam has never been a peaceful religion; it has always been a religious and political system imposed by the sword.
His description of the history of Islam throughout world history was a carefully crafted to avoid telling the truth about the bloody conquests of Mohammed and his armies.
His depiction of Islam as promoting “tolerance” and the “dignity of all human beings” is false. Non-Muslims living in Islamic nations are subjected to repression and often death.
Prior to going to Egypt, Obama officials insisted that members of the Muslim Brotherhood be invited to hear his speech. The Brotherhood is a subversive group dedicated to the imposition of Islam on every nation on earth! Its own stated goal is “eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and ‘sabotaging’ its miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated and God’s religion is made victorious over all other religions.”
This doesn’t sound much like “tolerance.” It sounds like fascism and world-wide conquest.
Obama has big plans for Islam. In his speech, he promised Muslims that he will:
- Encourage American and Muslim student exchange programs and internships.
- Host a Summit on Entrepreneurship between American and Islamic business, foundation and social entrepreneurs.
- Set up a fund to support technological development in Muslim-majority countries.
- Work with the Organization of the Islamic Conference to eradicate polio and expand partnerships with Muslims to promote child and maternal health. (The Organization of the Islamic Conference is an Islamic group that seeks to suppress any criticism of Islam around the globe and to spread Islam worldwide.
This sounds like a bailout plan for Islamic conquest and the suppression of freedom around the globe. Why would he invite members of the Muslim Brotherhood to his speech – and why is he partnering with the Organization of the Islamic Conference? Both of these groups are dedicated to world conquest and the destruction of free speech, religious freedom and democracy? Touring a Concentration Camp and Dresden
After Egypt, the President heads to Europe to visit Buchenwald, the German concentration camp where 30,000 Jews were killed. He will then travel to Dresden, the city that Allied Forces carpet bombed during World War II. Leftists are critical of our bombing of Dresden because civilians were killed. Will President Obama apologize for this bombing of the Nazi war machine? Or, is his trip to Buchenwald and Dresden designed to portray these events and places as being morally equivalent? Dresden was a strategic military target. It was the center of 110 factories with more than 50,000 workers in these military arms plants. These factories produced aircraft parts, anti-aircraft and field guns, as well poison gas. The United States Air Force Historical Studies Office has published a history of the importance of our bombing Dresden. President Obama’s last apology tour was a public relations disaster for American interests abroad. During his last tour, he told the French that Americans were arrogant and dismissive of European interests. He told the Turks that he wanted to convey his deep appreciation for the Islamic faith. In England, he bowed to the King of Saudi Arabia in England. Why does the President feel compelled to partner with a religious-political system that seeks world domination? Is he more committed to Islam than he has led us to believe in the past?
