My parents did not teach me just by what they said.  They taught by what they did.

Experienced writers usually advise beginners that “You write best when you write about what you know.”
» Three Tours de France
By John Armor | Published 07/30/2008 | From Our Writers | Rating:
Obama’s style for the Tour de France would be to pose with a bicycle, and with a few other riders.  Then he would give a bang-up speech on how to win the race.  Then he would be off to his next photo op without ever actually DOING anything.
» Clarence Thomas: Thrown in the Deep End of the Pool
By John Armor | Published 07/24/2008 | From Our Writers | Rating:
Time and again, Clarence swam, until it became second nature for him not to count the odds in any situation, but to figure out what was the right choice, and then pursue it to success, if that was possible.
» Smart as a Whip, Dumb as a Hoe Handle
By John Armor | Published 07/12/2008 | From Our Writers | Rating:
There are three people whose bylines I always follow.  I have never ceased to be impressed by any column I’ve read from any of these three gentlemen (in alphabetical order): Charles Krauthammer, Thomas Sowell, and Mark Steyn.
» A Walk in the Park--for a Century or More
By John Armor | Published 07/5/2008 | From Our Writers | Rating:
Two weeks ago I took a ''Walk in the Park.''  It was touching, sad, funny, educational, and the best possible use of two hours of time.
» Beyond Guns: The Deeper Meaning of the Heller Case
By John Armor | Published 06/29/2008 | From Our Writers | Rating:
Everyone who has television, a computer, a newspaper, or a radio, knows that the Supreme Court handed down its decision in the Heller Case on Thursday, ruling that the Second Amendment provides a personal right to "keep and bear arms."
» Barack (Rorschack) Obama
By John Armor | Published 06/20/2008 | From Our Writers | Rating:
It is curious that apparently none of these reporters and pundits bothered to find out what that psychiatric test was for, how it worked, and what it meant.  People assume that a ''Rorschach'' indicates a person or event that can mean different things to different people.
» Gravity: Not Just a Good Idea. It's the Law
By John Armor | Published 06/14/2008 | From Our Writers | Rating:
Any child who has ever run a lemonade stand or played the game of Monopoly understands the economic laws of supply and demand better than your average voter, or professor, or candidate, or congressman, or reporter.
» Prosecutors, Hypocrisy, and Harry Reid
By John Armor | Published 03/23/2007 | From Our Writers | Unrated
I’ve been following the unfortunate career of Harry Reid since he joined the U.S. Senate in 1986.  His latest pronouncement, concerning the firing of eight U.S. Attorneys, is one more example that he will do and say whatever he can get away with, to earn himself either political capital, or capital gains in a land deal.
