» Stopping Truth at the Border, Banning Michael Savage From Britain
By Selwyn Duke | Published 05/7/2009 | From Our Writers | Unrated
So, obviously, it doesn't matter whether views are inflammatory or not.  The critical factor is whether they're true.  Yet, to leftists, who are moral relativists, Truth means nothing.  Thus, they simply define anything contrary to their agenda as out-of-bounds.
» Why the Law Is Foreign to Justice Ginsberg
By Selwyn Duke | Published 04/30/2009 | From Our Writers | Unrated
It seems that these things matter to Ginsberg because she isn’t satisfied with her role.  She wants prestige and respect; she wants to set trends.  Perhaps she should have started a cult.  I hear there’s some land available in northwestern Guyana.
» Barack Obama: Chairman of the Bored
By Selwyn Duke | Published 04/16/2009 | From Our Writers | Unrated
Perhaps I was wrong about Barack Obama.  Maybe his words can bring peace to the world.  That is to say, if he keeps talking, he just may put all the world's peoples to sleep and keep them that way.
» Notre Dame's Betrayal of Faith
By Selwyn Duke | Published 04/7/2009 | From Our Writers | Unrated
Catholic institutions have a duty to instill students with Catholic teaching, not that of Berkeley.  Thus, in such an eminently sane setting, abortion isn't a debated issue.  It's a settled issue.  And Barack Obama isn't just another president.  He is way over the line.
» Obama Gunning for the Second Amendment
By Selwyn Duke | Published 03/20/2009 | From Our Writers | Unrated
Oh, are you wondering why some people may stockpile ammo?  It's very simple: It's like insurance.  If there is a disaster causing social breakdown, such as the Los Angeles riots, Hurricane Katrina, or something worse, it will be too late to run to the store and pick up 500 rounds.
» Is the President a Socialist?
By Selwyn Duke | Published 03/12/2009 | From Our Writers | Unrated
I truly believe that, in their hearts, most of our leftists have no problem with socialism at all.  But that is secondary.  The point is that liberalism today is not an ideology as much as it is simply a process, one that takes man well beyond the vision of socialism.  Its only end game is the complete crushing of the human spirit and the death of civilization.
» Giving Obama a Chance
By Selwyn Duke | Published 02/20/2009 | From Our Writers | Unrated
I could be snide and just say that I’ll give the president every bit the chance the left gave George Bush.  With him they certainly did hiss, and spew venom, attacking him viciously and relentlessly for eight years starting with the oath of office.  The man could do nothing right in their eyes...
» Yes, Rush, I Also Hope That Obama Fails
By Selwyn Duke | Published 02/3/2009 | From Our Writers | Unrated
I actually agree with Limbaugh wholeheartedly.  I also want Obama to fail--abjectly, miserably, completely--and visibly.  I may even pray for it.
» The Artificial Reality of Matrix Media
By Selwyn Duke | Published 01/18/2009 | From Our Writers | Unrated

If people want sweet lies and stories about Paris Hilton, bread, and circuses, there will always be “journalists” willing to provide them.  It’s just as with politicians, only here people vote for demagogues by clicking a mouse, pressing the remote or buying a paper.

» The Bailout Culture and the Beauty of Bankruptcy
By Selwyn Duke | Published 12/20/2008 | From Our Writers | Unrated
We seem to have forgotten that not allowing people to suffer consequences has consequences.  The reason for this was perhaps expressed best by English philosopher Herbert Spencer, who said: "The ultimate result of shielding men from the effects of folly is to fill the world with fools."
