Because of Joe McCarthy’s critics, we have been told time and again that guilt by association is a cardinal sin.  But I contend it makes perfect sense to judge people by their friends, but also by their enemies.  Who hasn’t said, upon meeting another person, “Any friend of so-and-so is a friend of mine”?  And who doesn’t subscribe to the adage that the enemy of my enemy is my friend?

This brings us to America’s black population.  Slavery was evil, we all agree.  In spite of the fact that it was commonplace in most places on earth in the old days, and is still practiced in Africa these days, doesn’t give America a pass.  America, after all, isn’t just another country, even if Barack Obama doesn’t seem to think it’s anything special.

During his ''State of the Union'' address, with eight of the Supreme Court justices sitting right in front of him like clay pigeons, Barack Obama told the world that he would have to correct their mistake by bringing back McCain-Feingold.  Well, why wouldn’t he say such a stupid thing?  After all, he’s been wrong about everything else.

It’s easy to see why liberals are convinced that they’re superior to conservatives.  For one thing, in nearly all cases, professors in the liberal arts and members of the mainstream media are left-wingers.  But you don’t have to be very intelligent or even the slightest bit honest to make one’s living in either field.

For openers, I don’t believe when it comes to politics, anyone is indispensable.  So, I want strict term limits for everyone holding elected office.  Serving one’s city, state, or country, should be a privilege, not a career.
» Debunking Liberalism and Islam

Recently, a conservative that I know suggested that it would be great if all the liberals packed up and moved to, say, France.  Although I happen to have a few liberal friends and I would surely miss them, I certainly endorse and second his motion.

By Burt Prelutsky | Published 02/17/2010 | From Our Writers | Unrated
Speaking of paying for political favors, inquiring minds want to know if Sen. Ben Nelson and Sen. Mary Landrieu have to return their bribes now that ObamaCare has been given the big thumbs down by one of Obama’s very own death panels. (laughter and applause)
» It Used to Be a Wonderful Life

Two centuries ago, King George III was told that President George Washington, who had eight years earlier turned down the opportunity to be the king of the United States, was planning to give up the presidency at the conclusion of his second term and return to his farm in Mount Vernon.  The astonished monarch, who had lost a war to General Washington, said, “If he does that, he will be the greatest man in the world.” Washington did, and he was.

By Burt Prelutsky | Published 02/10/2010 | From Our Writers | Unrated
At the rate that Obama is going, he’ll soon have piled up enough frequent-flyer miles to go to the moon.  And I, for one, say the sooner, the better.
» The Sorry State of the Union
By Burt Prelutsky | Published 02/6/2010 | From Our Writers | Unrated
I watched the State of the Union address and all I could think of was how lucky I was that I had never been elected to Congress.  I lost count of how many times during the interminable hour and a half, that I would have been shouting out, “You lie,” “Go back where you came from” and the rhetorical “Just how stupid do you think we are?”
