The Patriot Act
By Lee Ellis | Published  05/2/2005
Judge Andrew Napolitano, subbing for Bill O'Reilly today, tried to frighten people by telling us that any government agent could sneak into our home and plant a bug without our knowing it. This is his effort to do away or weaken the Patriot Act. What nonsense! No agent is going to waste his or her time or risk losing his or her job by sneaking into the home of an ordinary citizen, especially mine. How boring for an agent to listen to my conversation! What a waste of time! Our agents know that they need to be doing this to the homes of sleeper agents who plan to kill innocent American citizens. This is the only reason they get a paycheck, to use their time productively to protect us, to stop terrorism! Thanks to the Patriot Act, we have been safe since 9/11. Weaken it and this safety may end as the great con artists of the terrorist organizations are able to plan and execute future attacks under the noses of the FBI, laughing as they know that no agents can bug or stop them without their knowledge. Our problem is terrorism, not the Patriot Act.
