It was the night of "mini" super Tuesday that I realized I didn’t like Senator Barack Obama. I don’t just disagree with everything he says–I don’t agree with Senator Hillary Clinton either--but I truly do not like the man. Anyone who can make me root for Hillary Clinton is a powerful man indeed. It isn’t a power that one should be awe of, but it is a power one should be frightened of. Putting it bluntly, Barack Obama gives me the creeps.
Several months ago, Barack Obama was a nobody. He was a young black man from Illinois who had only just been elected to the United States Senate in 2004 and sworn in January of 2005. Until then, he had been a state senator from Illinois and very few people outside the confines of Illinois even knew who he was.
In 2004, Barack caused quite a stir at the Democratic convention with his keynote address based on his book, "The Audacity of Hope." Here was a young, black, intelligent, well-spoken, well-educated, very liberal man and there is no doubt that the Democratic Party had big plans for him. While Barack would need grooming and experience, at least he wasn’t a "reverend" of some mythical church somewhere. He didn’t sound like someone from the "hood" and didn’t seem to have a shady past. He seemed to be a clean slate--or was he?
It should be obvious that no one really considered that anyone would seriously challenge Hillary for the nomination, least of all Hillary. Biden, Dodd, and the perpetually-running-for-president Kucinich, were never a threat to Hillary. She imperiously swept them aside like she was waving off a fly. What Hillary didn’t count on was a country weary of the Clintons. People were saying, "Bush, Clinton, Bush...do we really want another Clinton?"
It was because of this Clinton burnout that Barack Obama was able to gain momentum. The "change" that the rank and file Democrats wanted was someone NOT named Clinton. It wasn’t that Barack was so great, but it was just that he wasn’t Hillary Clinton.
The once "I am humble" act of Barack Obama evolved quickly into pure arrogance. Photos of him looking down on Hillary as if she was a bug began to appear. This was not just a taller man gazing down at a woman he considered his equal, but there was a look of disdain and disgust in his eyes. Barack felt he was above Hillary. His "fans" said so and he began believing it himself. His once-eloquent speaking voice took on the cadence of a preacher giving a sermon in some hot tent with the mesmerized "flock" gaping at him in wide-eyed wonder. Women began to swoon and faint at the sound of his voice. Girls made videos about how they loved him and at every stump speech, as Barack babbled on about "change" and "hope," women gazed lovingly at him while waving their "Barack for Change" signs.
Barack Obama stopped being a candidate for president and became a cult hero. Even the liberal media was swept up in the "Obamamania." Chris Matthews of MSNBC, allegedly a journalist, claims to have cried while listening to an Obama speech and feeling "thrills" go up his legs. Matthews has also compared Obama to Jesus. This comparison leads to the question: What power does Barack Obama have over people to cause them to compare him to the Son of God–and is that good thing?
It is said that good comedy has its genesis in truth. With the writers’ strike over, the Saturday Night Live troupe came back with a vengeance. Taking the truth only slightly to the absurd, in a mock debate between Hillary and Barack, the questioners fawn over Barack and tell Hillary to pretty much be still or she would be thrown out of the building. One reporter even admits to being so enamored with Barack that he stalks him and parks outside his home every night. For some reason, the real liberal media seemed embarrassed by this skit. They should be. It was more truth than fiction. The media’s coddling of Barack Obama is a disservice to the public they are supposed to be informing. If not for conservative radio, many facts about Barack Obama would not be known.
Barack Obama was born to a Muslim father and in the eyes of Islam, that makes him a Muslim. A misguided Muslim, perhaps, but a Muslim nonetheless. It is not his fault that his grandparents raised him to be Christian. Nearly every Muslim group in America supports Obama. While the story that he took the oath of office on the Quran and not the Bible is untrue, the fact that he does not put his hand on his heart during the national anthem nor wear an American flag appears to be true. This personal disrespect that Obama has for his own country is disturbing.
Obama proudly belongs to a black supremist church that has given a life-time achievement award to Louis Farrakhan, leader of the Nation of Islam and well known Christian and Jew hater. Farrakhan has whole-heartedly endorsed Barack Obama.
Obama’s wife has stated that "for the first time in her adult life" she is proud of America. Having women and weak-minded journalists swoon at her husband’s feet makes her proud to be an American? Has America done nothing in her forty-plus years to make her proud?
Stinging from his losses in Ohio and Texas, Obama has stated that he wants Hilary to "prove" she has the experience that she brags about. This would be an interesting challenge if it was coming from someone who actually had some experience himself. Obama has very little experience dealing with domestic issues and virtually no experience in national defense. He is a good speaker but has actually experienced very little. Most of his Senate career has been spent running for president. He has missed important votes and committee meetings. He brags about not voting for the Iraq war. Of course, he didn’t! Illinois state senators aren’t allowed to vote for such things in the United States Congress. When his "fans" are questioned about his accomplishments, the only thing they can find to point to is that he was elected to the Senate. That’s a fairly small resume.
Proving that he is a card-carrying member of the "blame America first" club, Barack’s military advisor blamed America for "Iran’s bad behavior." Trying to obtain nuclear weapons to blow up Israel is "bad behavior?" Apparently, Obama is woefully ignorant about the history of Iran being the leader of several terrorist groups that have sworn to not only kill every Jew, but every American as well.
While telling his "fans" one thing, he has his surrogates meeting with people from Canada telling them not to listen to what he says during his stump speeches. Other Barack campaign members are calling Hillary a "monster." Of course, those people are quickly disavowed or fired, but this doesn’t change the fact that the man is not as honest as he would like the people to believe.
The fact that Obama is running for president isn’t a shock. The fact that he is doing so well should frighten every sane and rational American. He has no experience, doesn’t seem to like his own country, wants to surrender to Islam, and have dinner with the loon running Iran and the oppressive new dictator of Cuba.
He was shocked and literally speechless when an embarrassed media actually asked him a few hard questions. When finally questioned seriously by a few journalists trying to clean up their tarnished reputations, Obama fled from a press conference that he had scheduled. After only eight questions--tough questions–he pleaded he had no time and must go. Did he think there was a free pass into the Oval Office stamped up just for him? Did Obama really believe that the liberal media would ask softball questions forever? After all, not everyone who will question him over the next several months will be an adoring fan like Chris Matthews.
Did Obama think that because he was black he was untouchable? It seems so. There are many Americans like me who could care less if he was Martian green; he simply is not fit to lead this country. If someone points out that fact, chants of "racist" pour out. The mind-set appears to be that no one dare question the great Obama about anything because he is black. If you do question, you are labeled a racist.
In just a few months, Americans will go to the polls to choose the most powerful leader in the world. This country needs a leader, not a rock star, or a man with a fan club. America needs a leader who hasn’t surrendered to its enemies before even getting the nomination of his party or agreeing to meet with every rogue and oppressive leader in the world to "appease" them.
But most of all, America needs a leader who doesn’t seem annoyed every time the National Anthem is played, finds nothing good about America’s past accomplishments, and seems to have some mystical power to send quivers up people’s legs when he speaks. Personally, I want a doer, not a talker. Frankly, Barack Obama has done nothing but make empty promises of "hope" and "change." What Obama is "hoping" is that Americans will not notice that he won’t "change" anything more than the curtains in the Oval Office. He won’t know how.
